We envision a community where every person can reach full potential, and that cannot happen without proper nutrition. At the 2014 Community Meeting, best-selling author and food advocate Michael Pollan will talk with us about the importance of a healthy food system and healthy food.
Pollan is a recipient of the California Book Award, the James Beard Award, and a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. His book The Omnivore’s Dilemma was named one of the 10 best books of 2006 by both The New York Times and The Washington Post. Pollan is the John S. and James L. Knight Professor of Journalism at the UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism, and has received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Biology Teachers, been named one of Newsweek’s "Top Ten Thought Leaders," and received the LennonOno Grant for Peace in 2010.
