Kalamazoo Community Foundation hired Erycka Hunter as Vice President of Operations and Jennifer Heymoss to Vice President of Initiatives & Public Policy. The two roles were created following reorganizing at KZCF in spring 2021.
Hunter joined the KZCF team as Human Resources Director in September 2020. Prior to KZCF, she worked at the Flint Community Schools, where she supported over 500 employees in the district. At the City of Flint, she led two city departments as the Director of Human Resources & Labor Relations and the Executive Director of the Human Relations Commission. Hunter led the organizational effectiveness strategy to align the strategic plan and oversaw all aspects of human resources management including Recruiting; Staffing; Classification & Compensation; Change Management, Training & Development, Benefits Administration, and served as the main point of contact with the unions representing the organization's employees.
"Operational excellence is the goal for me moving into this new role at the Community Foundation," Hunter said. "I am excited about working with passionate individuals committed to our new mission."
Heymoss started at KZCF in July 2020 on the Community Investment team. She played a key role in supporting the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation initiative and staff, specifically the Education Design team and Leadership team. In her prior work as Director of Clinical Experiences for the College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University, and as program director for the Turn 2 Foundation, she has over 8 years of experience for creating, developing, implementing and evaluating strategy and scope of work.

In addition to the new members of the leadership team, KZCF welcomed new hires as well as a number of individuals to new roles.
Chaney Bear started as the new Human Resources manager and Ebony Hemphill joined the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation team as coordinator. Lauren Boulton joined the Marketing Communications team as Marketing officer. KZCF welcomed Adrienne Neubert to the Donor Relations team as database manager.
Carla Fernández-Soto was hired as Learning & Culture officer, the first of position of its kind at KZCF. She was previously the database manager on the Donor Relations team.
Candice Atwater, who formally served as a Community Investment coordinator, joined the Finance & Administration team as finance manager.
Kururama Masomere was promoted to Director of Impact Investment from Community Investment officer. Laura Galaviz was promoted to Director of Scholarships from Scholarship officer.
