KALMAZOO COUNTY -- Kalamazoo Community Foundation recently hired Lina Mwema as Finance Coordinator in Grantmaking.
Mwema earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting and is skilled in working in nonprofit organization management and finance.
"When I moved to Kalamazoo, I was intrigued by how the community received tremendous support from the many nonprofit groups established in this town," said Mwema. "From my research I discovered that Kalamazoo Community Foundation played a huge role in supporting and empowering the works of these nonprofit organizations. What struck me the most was the core value and vision to make the community the most equitable place to live. This truly inspired me to be part of such a great team."
In her role on the Finance and Administration team, Mwema will process and manage grant checks and engage with a community of grantees, donors and fund representatives.
"We're so glad to have Lina on board. The coordinator plays an integral role in getting funds out and into community, which is a huge part of our work" said Susan Springgate, Vice President of Finance at KZCF.
