Recent acts of violence against communities of color, especially Black/African Americans, show they are disproportionately impacted by blatant racism and there are no circumstances where this is ever acceptable.

We recognize the need for greater transparency and accountability from public officials toward anti-racism. We stand in solidarity with communities of color and commit to continue action towards our shared humanity, greater inclusion and equity for all.

The Kalamazoo Community Foundation envisions Kalamazoo County as the most equitable place to live and this can only be possible if we work collectively in removing barriers that prevent individuals and families from reaching their full potential.
